Language courses in the area?

Post by Nickerbockers »

Anybody know of anywhere in SE26 where I could do an evening class to learn a language. I would like to take up Spanish again, but I'm not coming up with anything. I don't drive so it has to be local.

If anyone has any info that could help, please let me know. Thanks.

Language courses in the area

Hi Nickerbockers
A few people have asked me about running an 'intercambio' in the Alhambra tearoom. An intercambio is where two (or more) people wishing to learn each other's language meet and spend half the time talking in one language and half the time speaking in the other. Each person helps and corrects the other. It's a chance for informal conversation practice, basically!
As the theme of Alhambra is Spanish, then a Spanish intercambio would seem appropriate. If anyone is up for it, please get in touch - if we get enough people interested I could set a regular morning, afternoon or evening aside for the group to use the tearoom. We need native Spanish people definitely, preferably those wishing to learn another language. Then we need native speakers of the other language wishing to learn Spanish.

Hi
The first Spanish conversation group at Alhambra is going to be on Weds 24 March at 7.30pm, in the tearoom behind the shop.
We have a Spanish teacher coming along to get us started, plus a selection of native Spanish/native English speakers, each keen to improve their grasp of the other language.
There is still room for a few more participants. If you would like to come, please could you let me know first by emailing mail@casajarapa.net, by phone on 020-3417 6385 or by popping into Alhambra at 148 Kirkdale. We may be starting a second group for those who cannot come on a Weds evening.
Thanks all!
