Sydenham Station ticket machines...

Post by Barty »

....are being replaced. Expect long queues I'm afraid. I shall try and find out why and how long.

Seems that the new machines are in place and working, and I believe they will indeed be able to cope with Oyster, although thatfunction hasn't gone live just yet.

Both of the new machines are now out of order. The ticket desk attendant informs me that the engineers won't arrive until Monday, which could make the Monday morning rush to buy tickets interesting. Just thought I would warn you to get your weekly travelcard today or tomorrow to avoid potentially huge queues on Monday!

Yes, Chazza, this is sound advice whether ticket machines are okay or not.

In the days when I didn't work for the railways and paid for my ticket, I used to renew my weekly ticket on the way home on a Friday night. They can be dated to start after your current one finishes.

But yeah, it's pretty crappy they've broken down so soon, I have to say!

Only working up to a point. After finally managing to get change of a £20 note for a £19.50 fare (exact money only or credit cards) I got as far the penultimate screen before it told me that such tickets were not available. Also was only issung returns, no singles.
