what sort of time was that? I got the 0729 train up and all was fine and I got a 1315 train back from LB and all was ok then.... I guess I was lucky.

The broken down train at Clapham Junction was at around 0830, and the bridge strike was about an hour later. By 1300 train services which wouldn't have passed through Clapham Jct were returning to normal. Of course the majority of Syd's trains don't pass through C J, only the off-peak London Bridge to Victorias, but anyone going further afield needed warning, I thought.

Things were still pretty crappy when I left at 1400, another points problem somewhere near Crawley I think, plus many trains between London and the coast were still delayed from the Clapham stuff.

Not a good day for Southern, and apparently BBC London radio were having a pop at us.
