STF NITE-OUT at the WOODMAN?

Post by admin »

I keep getting nagged as to when our next social should be. How about next Thursday 13th March from 8pm till closing?

I have not been to the new Woodman yet (top of Kirkdale opposite Dartmouth Road). Is that too far for our Mid-Syd and Lower Syd folks? It is downhill going home.

All welcome. You can come as yourselves, your nom-de-plume or lurk in the shadows. I'll be at the table with the pink FT.

Anybody?

If work doesn't get in the way, I will be there.

But i don't want to put anyone off by saying that.

While STF NITES are supposed to be purely social occasions - the breaking news that access to Sydenham Station from Peak Hill is to closed will cause a modicum of apoplexy to many commuters.

In order that this does not seriously interfere with imbibement we plan to spend around 30 minutes from, say, 8.30 till 9pm considering what should be done about it. You may find some of the comments in the Oyster Card thread helpful.

So if the proposed closure effects you - drop in to the Woodman, Kirkdale before 8.30pm Thursday.

Yes, it was a really great turn-out.

And you know, I've begun to realise that perhaps Aussies aren't quite as bad as they are always painted up to be!

Anyone remembering us laying down the gauntlet of a Pub Quiz in the beer sodden belief that cream of Sydenham Town Forum would vanquish those souls that are forever doomed to straddle the South Circular (aka SE23.COM Forum)?

Worryingly I have already received an email from SE23.COM with a proposed venue. Are we up for it?

It was a good night - and nice to see the new Woodman. I'd be interested in a pub quiz with the Forest Hill gang. We also discussed our next night out, at the Bridge Tavern in south Sydenham which sounds good.

We had a fab night, thanks all. Great to meet you in the flesh. And thanks too to DigitalFX who spent nearly three hours round our house today fixing our poorly PC (dare not tell you how many virus' he found here but we're talking triple figures  ). Looking forward to the next one. Will be pleased to join in the pub quiz. And looking forward also to the Eurovision night.

Mummycat, I've had the Meze in the BHT and its really good!
