After reading on this forum about Home Park Butchers I tried it yesterday and was delighted. Two friendly, knowledgeable butchers, Craig and Hugh, with free range meat properly sourced. I had some beautiful free range sirloin steaks and a selection of sausages.
They were getting their Christmas orders ready and apologised for the smaller selection than normal but it looked great to me.
You even get a free workout hiking all the way down to Bell Green and back -but there's parking in front and in Champion and Kirtley Roads either side.
They are at 341 Sydenham Road
They are open
8 till 5 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
8 till 1pm on Wednesday
Closed Sunday and Monday. But they are open late this week and on Sunday and Monday too
I urge you to give them your custom
Their number is 020 8778 5310 - might be good to call first if you're after something specific

Funny all these remarks about Kennedys sausages; I was brought up on them, especially the beef variety from Penge, my mum would not buy any thing else.
When I moved out of Penge in 1988 I had stopped buying them as the quality had deteriorated markedly, all paste and gristle.
either they bucked up again, or the alternative is really grim.
If you want real sausages I can give the address of one down here, world championship winning sossies
