Decent roofer?

just a few lines about my experiences.

I attempted to get local roofers to fix a leaking roof. As I didn't want to use the lottery of Yellow Pages i asked for referrals from my neighbours. The roofer my neighbours suggested didn't turn up to do the estimate. So i called a 'reputable' firm in Beckenham. Their estimate was way too much. I ended up getting my sisters friends in Surrey. They travelled an 80 mile round trip for both days to do the work. The cost was half the price of the firm from Beckenham and the job was superb.

Sorry i can't really help, but the point of the story is that it is well-worth taking your time to get the right guys, rather than taking chances on firms you don't know.

Thanks, you're right.

It's just so hard trying to find someone recommended that actually turns up to do an estimate! I've been let down a few times already and don't just want to stick a pin in the Yellow Pages.

OK, the guy I used was excellent. It may be worth giving him a call to see if it is cost effective for him to undertake the work. ...you have nothing to lose.

We needed slate tiles and batons replacing on part of our roof and his work was superb.
