Great news - I think these shops are loathsome - antisocial behaviour , intensive , almost certainly barbarically raised chickens and the obligatory boxes blowing around the streets .
If Gordon Ramsey ever got into the market we might be talking ( Gordon's Sweary Fried Chicken? ) but for now good riddance to it , vileness averted and thank you for brightening our weekends.
A very good afternoon

I think we need a KFC in Sydenham. Far superior quality to all the imitations, Morley, Dallas, Miami, etc etc so all the others will go out of business and you'll end up with what most people on this site seem to want.... less chicken shops
Plus of course I can walk to a local shop in my own high street instead of taking my gas guzzing environmentally unfriendly car past fifteen sets of pedestrian lights to Penge and burn another few grams of CO2 driving round and round the high street looking for a parking space outside the KFC there
I made my own fried chicken recently: marinated the legs, wings and thighs, coated them in flour, pepper, salt, mustard seeds, cayenne pepper, onion seeds, celery salt and paprika.... shallow fried it to crisp and then baked through. I served it with homemade cornbread, mashed sweet potatoes and salad.
It was delicious, if I do say so myself. It just goes to show that bastardised crap served as "fast food" does not necessarily mean that the foodstuff itself should be written off.
Bensonby I couldn't agree more, hence my reference to Gordon Ramsey coming into rescue it.
Same has been said about the noble sausage - much derided for years but enjoying a well deserved renaissance through people like Billings and Roses making quality items to stir the soul .
Back to your home made chicken - which sounded excellent - I am fairly sure you didn't start a fight on the kitchen , leave BMX bike across the pavement or throw your bones out onto the street/bus/ train?
That was the aspect I was venting my spleen on.
Litter is a sad fact of life not confined to chicken shops..... I'm sure amongst the chicken bones littering the average high street in the small hours of Saturday and Sunday morning you will also find chip wrappers, kebab boxes, empty beer cans, etc etc etc.
Train litter problems that I have observed most often result from empty takeaway coffee cups and discarded free newspapers.
Which came first..... the chicken shop, or the fight....
I don't own a BMX bike. I've never got involved in a fight outside a chicken shop (well, nor anywhere else to be fair) and i throw my litter in a bin. Why shouldn't I enjoy a wide selection of chicken shops to choose from?
And finally, an interesting point on chicken shops and bikes..... last time I was in a chicken shop, a young gentleman on a bicycle who had wheeled it inside, was told by the manager to leave it outside as it was a health and safety issue in the shop (it might fall over and injure someone). He made the very valid point that smeone may steal his bicycle (well, he actually said "Nahhhh man, someone might teef it innit") and thus left the chicken shop without any chicken.
