A museum like none you've ever seen! Jill Hub till Sunday

Post by penelopeelse »

The National Museum of Luketia is now open in Sydenham, and lovers of the bizarre are flocking to this post-communist museum set in the dank back rooms of Jill Community Hub.

Created by The Brothers Kaufman and Spontaneous Productions, it's an interactive theatre show/art installation - blackly comic, occasionally disturbing but mostly delightfulling.

[I've watched it being built, and I can confirm that is it deliciously weird! I'll be going to see the finished product tomorrow afternoon.]

It's only there till Sunday 16 Dec, but it's free to enter and is open between 11am-1pm & 2-4pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday PLUS late night opening on Friday 14 between 6-9pm. Jill Community Hub, 27 Sydenham Road, London SE26 5EX

We went yesterday - it's hilarious!

Came back home with the weirdest ever assortment of the (truly) strange and (frankly) surreal, but now very busy trying to find a place to display them in the prominent place they deserve....

Stop Press: if you are going please mind that if you turn up with a bit of vodka (in an old jam jar or anything like that) you will have a vastly warmer reception than we did...

Congratulations to all involved.

Do go see it, it's so wonderfully weird! Make sure you get at the start of any group, so you get the full benefit of the lovely attendants!
