Guitar Teacher in Sydenham?

Hi all - I have recently moved back to Sydenham. I grew up here (now 35) and am really happy to be back! Lovely place

Can anyone recommend a local guitar tutor? I have tried google etc but to no avail...

I can't help with a tutor. My son more or less taught himself through the internet by following guitar chat forums, downloading innumerable tabs from the Net and practise, practise, practise plus watching "How to" demo chord fingering on videos, plus playing along with some audible music scores (so proper music notes rather than tabs). His biggest problem IMO was not keeping in time, but there are online metronomes. He also learned his guitar "management"(?) very well, e.g. when strings needed replacing, how to tune it (has a gadget) and a plethora of pedals and things I can't remember the names of like the "bar" to clamp strings, electric guitar "twanger(?)" handle used in conjuction with pedal I think. All beyond me.

What stage are you at? I know nothing but my son might if I can ask specific questions of him ...

Edit PS There's a clever website he used on which the audio (and musical notes display) can be slowed whilst learning, then can speeded up more once confident.

I think I saw a poster advertising a guitar teacher in either Kente or Sugahill cafe. Might be worth having a look.

You could also ask in the guitar shop where my son got supplies, just the other side (well ish) of Penge East station if on foot or road map in link (parking's hopeless round there unless you're able to get a spot or another "circles" without parking - or just ring them, lol :
