Concerts in Crystal Palace
Does anybody know if there are going to be any concerts in Crystal Palace Park this summer?

I understand that despite an offer of increased grant funding from the London Development Agency the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has decided not to proceed with a further season of concerts as they feel the financial risk for them is too great.
Other events in the pipleine are
1) The Norwich Union Athletics Grand Prix will go ahead as normal and the London Youth games will also take place but some events will be transferred elsewhere due to continued asbestos removal at the National Sports Centre
2) A Pyrotechnic Spectacular, not associated with 5 November, is also planned for later in the year.

Anyone know why the bowl doesn't attract any name bands anymore?
During the seventies everyone played in the bowl-Elton John, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys-the list goes on and on. Even in the late eighties bands like The Pixies and The Cure were coming to the bowl.
I know music is a bigger draw than 25 years ago but it would be great to get some decent bands to play the bowl. The Free Festival has always been good fun but was never going to attract anyone but locals.
