Sad news-thank you for sharing this,Stuart, about a true, unsung Sydenham heroine-really interesting. I looked up the name 'Blondun' in a 1930's Kelly's Directory I have, to see whereabouts in Sydenham the family lived,and there they were; Dottie and her family lived at 33a Adamsrill Rd.,which still stands.
Dottie certainly had a much shorter journey to school (Adamsrill) than work,as she lived almost on the schools' doorstep!
