E cigarettes in the Dolphin
E cigarettes in the Dolphin
Popped into the Dolphin tonight. Generally very nice apart from a couple puffing away on e cigarettes. Really spoiled the evening and felt like a step back into the bad old days when smoking was allowed in pubs.

did you complain to the staff? (or to those smoking?) I'd be very surprised if they were allowed to do that - I don't know any businesses that allow e-cigarettes to be smoked indoors
Re: E cigarettes in the Dolphin
Emailed the Dolphin to query their policy. They do allow it provided it provided they judge it isn't bothering other customers.

That's a shame. It makes them seriously out of step with the majority of other businesses (including pubs) in the UK

What is it like sitting next to people who are vaping? Can you smell or inhale the vapour?

Re: E cigarettes in the Dolphin
It's not unpleasant. My objection to allowing it inside - especially in pubs - is not that one person next to me might be doing it, it's the potential for lots of people to be doing it in the pub en masse. I'd prefer it if pubs didn't become the go-to "places where you can vape inside"
Re: E cigarettes in the Dolphin
You can inhale the very visible plume of vapour and any unabsorbed nicotine, water vapour etc being exhaled. In my experience the smell is usually sweet and sickly and I would prefer to avoid it, particularly in a pub.

i am amazed the Dolphin permit this.
I certainly will not be visiting . Disgrace.
As has been mentioned it is lovely walking into a Pub knowing the air will be OK.
To say OK as long as no one complains. Some people are reluctant to complain.
