...have apparently been caused by server failure. This caused the DNS (Domain Name Resolution) on
the same server to fail. But it is duplicated on other servers which continued to direct users to the correct server.
So no failure of the master DNS server was detected. But if they haven't heard from the master for 7 days the slave servers presume the world has ended. Which is what happened.
The main server will be rebooted at some quiet time over the next couple of days. First the STF will be moved to another server to avoid any downtime.
Hopefully these actions will prevent a repitition.
