New internet regulations - consultation

Post by mosy »

NB: This is NOT a dig at the EU, quite the reverse actually.

EU Net Neutrality regulations proposed are open for public comments until July 18, so only another couple of weeks! Further details and concerns here: https://savetheinternet.eu/en/?sample_r ... -a-message

The regulations in principle are generally seen to be welcome and desirable as they seek to ensure fairness by disallowing favouritism or discrimination by service providers, so all users should be considered equal (which covers several aspects).

Some expert analysts are worried however that there are potential loopholes or workarounds in the actual wording (i.e. it won't do what it says on the tin without some amendments).

I hope the UK would adopt them (once suitably amended having ironed out the wrinkles.)

Any concerns need to be addressed before the final wording is set in stone, hence urgency for the public to express any views before July 18.
