We have submitted an application to Lewisham Council to change the use of 66 Honor Oak Park from a minimart to a drinking establishment called ‘One Tree Hill’.
‘One Tree Hill’ would be a local drinking establishment, specialising in offering an assortment of drinks and nibbles with a local community vibe for people to enjoy meeting up in the evening or before/after having a meal at one of the other local establishments.
Unfortunately, the council has refused the application on the grounds that,
‘There is a concentration of the uses A3/A4/A5 on the parade and it would detrimentally harm the vitality of the shopping parade and the amenities of neighbouring properties’.
We have had an overwhelming amount of support from local residents in Honor Oak Park and on the local forum and we have decided to appeal the council’s decision.
We have set up an online petition;
https://www.change.org/p/lewisham-counc ... businesses
If you agree with the change of use, we would be so incredibly grateful if you could sign our petition to support our appeal.
Many Thanks

I think this would be a very welcoming addition to our fab community. I wish you the very best of luck with your appeal.

I've signed it - even though its in contravention of Lewishams policy of only allowing unsightly ,identikit - Libara- phone unnlocking - send money home shops , and even then, only if strictly unnecessary .
Seriously good luck with it .
A very good evening

I signed it a while ago, Lewisham are being stupid about this. Really stupid.
They really are the red tape council.
Although it's a little unfair Nigel (although I get you were making a point!) saying that they allow identikit, unsightly, send money home shops. There isn't much they can do about them with the current rules.
