I'd be more than happy to see ticketed events in parks. Home park could easily host a funfair. Carters Steamfair is great in Belair Park, the funfairs in Brockwell Park are great too. There is a fantastic event space for theatre etc in Mayow Park. The open air theatre in Regents Park is paid for an fantastic. I paid for the Bubble theatre event in Wells Park a few years ago which is one of the best, most memorable things I've seen (It's a real shame they didn't do it again). The Luna cinema in Dulwich looks amazing and that's a paid for event. I've no issue with any of this as long as it's good value and a memorable experience.

I just hope the council make it accessible for community groups to stage things there.

Anything that helps out open spaces remain in good condition and essentially free is a good thing.

I've said 'tend to disagree' for my local park, Baxter Fields, as it's quite small and I wouldn't want park users to be temporarily deprived of the park's other facilities. Also (although I forgot to mention this) there would be parking implications. School sports days already cause problems in this respect.

It's a bit of a flawed survey as I use many parks and could travel to events. just limiting it to 'the park you currently use the most' is a bit pointless. My local Park is Home Park, but I rarely use it as Mayow is so much better. I'd use it more if it had a fairground in it or events though.

I use Mayow park a lot, walk through most days, and usually in there Sat, Sun, and Monday. But haven't actually been to 'an event' as such.
Is volunteering to help out with the orchard work, or weeding the herb garden considered an event?
going on a bird walk - not really an event either (imo)
the later questions do ask about parks in Lewisham in general, rather than all the questions just relating to your personal favourite/nearest.

I tend to think a park should be, a park; we should resist commercialising them. Our open spaces should be treasured and offer time for quiet reflection.
