CND Spring Fair next to Market this Saturday

Post by Tim Lund »

My scanner's not done a great job on this

so to spell it out, from 2.00 to 4.00 in the Venner Hall, behind where the monthly Sydenham Market will be happening, Forest Hill and Sydenham CND will be holding their annual Spring Fair. Always good value for some plants, second hand books and bric a brac.

For the small p political message, the other side of the leaflet

When I've finished my delivery round, I might get round to posting on "The Tartan Divorce", arguing that whatever we think about the SNP, we should accept that Scotland could become as independent a country as any other of its size within the EU. As far as I'm concerned, the abandonment of the UK's so-called independent nuclear deterrent would be one of the benefits of this.

I'm not sure, however, if my CND friends would go along with my view that there would still be some role for a reduced NATO deterrent, or that other EU countries should have better funded and better co-ordinated conventional military forces, but that's another matter.

Sorry to hear you've had to take on a paper round to make your week up, Tim. The City must be in more trouble than we thought. Still, gets you out of the house I suppose.

Elsewhere I may try to explain the difference between capitalism as I see it, and capitalism as addiction to money.

But for the time being, you're spared.

Just a quick appreciation of the Forest Hill & Sydenham CND fete, opened by Cllr Obajimi Adefiranye, with subtle product placement from the John Lewis Partnership
