Late Knights posted a message on twitter last night about a possible new bar.
I don't know how to insert attachments, so can't include the message, but they say it's a small space with a garden, and could be open in a few months!

This is super exciting! Unfortunately I'm allergic to technology so Twitter (and other social media stuffs) I am not part of - so if others could inundate them with positive replies and questions on my behalf that would be great!

I would love it if it was an ironic/sarcastic message and they were actually planning on taken over the windmill! (Definite wishful thinking!)

Not sure where the garden info came from but altho no garden I dont think the talma looks quite small but lovely formed/in the vain of their previous places - take over a small place and not have to do much to it perhaps. (Never been as closed as I moved here but imagine it's prob pretty good to go perhaps).. Or maybe one of the closed shops on the high street that may have a little space out back (like on the hoof).. Bit too excited think I should stop texting...!!

The Penge one is the Alexandra, presumably, which is still waiting for planing permission for the upper floors hostel.

It's definitely in Sydenham. That's what they said and they know their areas.

They're also known for not necessarily setting up in pubs. They've used an old betting shop before.

They should make it a competition with the correct guess getting a pint if all is successful!.. If I had to take a stab in the dark (and selfishly be wishful it was closeish to me) I'd go the old marionette/costume shop on Kirkdale a few doors up from foxs pub/Alhambra. From being in foxes/alhambra it may have little garden space at the back and it's small and empty in decent location..

They have said it will be a bit further down from the Dolphin.

Will be good to have another place to go to.

This is great news! My girlfriend and I have enjoyed the Late Knights beer at 161 Kirkdale bar, but it's been a bit of trek from our place in Lower Sydenham.

The old fancy dress shop had a planning notice in the window and mentioned a canopy being built in the garden, maybe there?

I hope it's somewhere along Sydenham High Street - that's where it needs to be. 'Down from the Dolphin' depends on which direction you're facing, presumably.

Anyway - they look like a 'cool' brewery ... just what Sydenham needs. It'd be great to lose a betting shop and gain a new bar

It's not the old costume hire shop, something else exciting is planned for there.

Look at the empty shops, that may give a clue. Perhaps the old jaspers place (which is fairly small opposite the Dolphin) which would be a fantastic location with a little outdoor space.

There aren't many empty places unfortunately, which limits change and progress and keeps rents higher.

Perhaps they will have a concession in the Marketplace?

Whatever, it's great news.

Here's mine - 173 Sydenham Road (corner of Hazel Grove). Formerly the Man of Kent pub (more recently the Premium Snack Bar, then a legal/estate agent office). Has downstairs storage for beer and a small rear outdoor space.

I think it's too far down though if it is that place. I hope it's further up (and I live down there), there very little footfall.
