Lewisham Cyclists and Sydenham Parks

Just saw this

which unfortunately I'll not be able to make, but seems like a nice way to spend a Sunday morning.

From the route description on the Lewisham Cycists Facebook page it sounds as if it starts at Le Delice in Ladywell

Meet Le Delice 9.30am for coffee, 10.00 am ride leaves. Park your bike over the road from Le Delice though, outside the bookies where there is more space to gather. Our rides seem to be getting bigger and we have begun to block the pavement outside the cafe.

Just under 20 miles, using quiet back streets for the most part. A bit of a hill to get up to Wells Park and a good descent afterwards. And Lennard Road rises gradually up to Sydenham. But the rest is easy and flat using the Waterlink Way for the first half. We will have to cross some busier roads, but we can use crossings to make this safe. We'll have coffee and cake in the cafe in Mayow Park. After heading down the hill from Sydenham, we'll head back through residential streets of Forest Hill, nipping into the cemetery to see if we can spot the green woodpeckers and a glimpse of an amazing bit of graveyard kitsch with a story behind it, which may or not be true. Then across Peckham Rye and the good old cycle route across the railway back to our good old borough and Ladywell.

It's an easyish ride, apart from the little bits of up...but take them slow, or walk the shorter steeper one. A little bit of rough path now and then, but mostly roads, hybrids or road bikes fine. There is at least one railway bridge to cross, but anyone who thinks they would find it tough to get your bike across, we will sort that for you.

I can vouch for that. Some of the scenery is fantastic and the Lewisham Cyclists are a lovely bunch. Dig out your rusty old clunker and join them.
