Small Business Saturday, 6 Dec

Post by louisecbrooks »

If you didn't already know, this Saturday is Small Business Saturday (https://smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com/). And there is loads going on in Sydenham, so plenty to keep you local and supporting the local economy.

Over at TSR Marketplace (167 Sydenham Road) we have several businesses under one roof including Miss Victoria's Floral Emporium and Aga's Little Deli. We also sell gifts from local designers and makers: Pen & Gravy (previously ran a pop up shop at 161 Kirkdale), One We Made Earlier, Paula McGurdy, Michelle Poultney and N'Damus (previously ran a pop up shop in the old ticket office at the station). Additionally all of our produce is bought from local producers and sellers. On Saturday in recognition of Small Business Saturday and the festive period, we have (local business) Once Upon a Storytime coming in from 2-5pm telling festive stories, face-painting and Christmas crafting. £2.50/child.

Elsewhere in Sydenham there are lots of other opportunities to support small businesses:
- Alexandra Nurseries, Christmas Fair with independent sellers 10am-5pm
- Here For Good, Christmas Pop Up with local makers and artists 10.30-4.30
- The Lovely Gallery, Affordable Art Fair 12-7pm
- Alhambra and 161 are offering a free coffee at 161 for spending over £40 at Alhambra, and 10% off at Alhambra for spending over £40 at 161.

Plus there are lots of other festive goings on locally including:
- Artists and makers open house at 30 Kingsthorpe
- Wesley Hall Christmas Fair, 10.30am-2.30pm
- St. Christopher's Hospice Christmas Festival, 11am-3pm
- Sydenham Garden Christmas Fair, 11am-3pm
- Sydenham Assembly at Sydenham Library, 2-3.45pm
- Launch of Literary Piazza, and This Elf Has Had Enough (performance by Stickybeak Theatre) 4-6pm

I'm sure you've all seen it now but here is a link to the SEE3 calendar for full details of what's going on: http://www.see3.co.uk/wp-content/upload ... 4-web1.pdf
