Sydenham Assembly - 7pm this evening TNG Wells Park Rd

Post by Chris Best »

Just a reminder that it is the Sydenham Assembly this evening starting at 7pm in the TNG on Wells Park Road.

Very busy agenda starting with updates on planning issues including The Greyhound, highways, waste arrangements, Skanska street lighting and Zanzibar. We then have a presentation on the management of street trees as residents have raised concerns with the loss of some large trees. We would like more residents to get involved in local associations and will be talking about how neighbours can get together.

This is followed by a presentation on Lewisham's Big Budget Challenge - information on the Council's income and expenditure and a discussion on the approach to cutting £1 in every £3. Your views are important on what services you value and what could be reduced/cut completely.

In the current year we have £12,500 to spend locally on small projects that can make a difference and we have a list of projects that residents have supported:

• Funding Street Trees
• Support for setting up new Residents Associations
• Funding creative surface on rear wall at Station Approach
• Funding to support Sydenham library piazza
• Funding events in Sydenham high street

There will be time for questions and answers and your three councillors will be present to follow up on any individual issues. We normally finish at 9pm. So if you want to know the latest on what is happening in Sydenham join us this evening.
