Irrational Sydenham

Post by SepticSkeptic »

The insidious grip of irrationality surrounds us in Sydenham.
Thought we could have a thread to document the finest in mind-numbing nonsense.

Maybe we could start with Newlands Park Natural Healthcare Centre.
I have posted about them before, and I don't want to get Admin in any trouble. But I think the ASA might have some issues with claims made on this page.

"Treating People With Asthma
Upon testing, if the patient is sensitive to Ascaris then I can de-sensitise them to this organism using acupressure points. Sometimes it is possible to remove pollutants from the person's environment if this is not an option then it is possible to use acupressure points to lesson the sensitivity to them.

Bio-Resonance can also be used to strengthen and de-toxify the lungs and related organs.

Outcome
From my experience addressing all these sensitivities can bring about alleviation of symptoms.

I have had particularly rapid results with infants and children, which has resulted in them not needing an inhaler."

For interest:

"Therapies: Kinesiology
Kinesiology is a complementary therapy that does not involve any form of physical diagnosis. There are many different branches and trainings but all are based on the theory that manual muscle testing can access information from the body’s meridians, chakras and bio-energy system. Muscle testing is also used to find out the priority area of the energy system to be helped and to evaluate the energy changes brought about by a variety of corrections. These corrections can cover a wide range of methods, from holding or rubbing particular reflex points to using flower essences.

In 2011 the ASA upheld a complaint about claims to treat hay fever, asthma, eczema and IBS with homeopathy using kinesiology as part of the testing process. CAP has seen no evidence that the technique can work and it should be advertised on an availability-only platform. "
