Space for Cycling Big Ride - Feeder Rides

Post by hairybuddha »

All,

Some of you may be aware of the London Cycling Campaign's Space for Cycling agenda. They are targeting local election candidates in every ward in London accompanied by a "Big Ride", confirmed for Saturday, May 17th, 12 noon. I hope as many of you as possible will attend and show your support. More info here: http://lcc.org.uk/pages/space-for-cycling

Some lovely people are organising an all-abilities feeder ride from Crystal Palace via Southwark as follows - you are free to join at any point:

Cadence (Crystal Palace) - leave 10:00am
Dulwich Village roundabout 10:30am
Burgess Park, by Portland Road 11:00am
Arrive Park Lane 11:45am via Lambeth bridge, Horseferry Road, Constitution Hill.

Total distance around 10 miles, children 8+ are welcome to participate if accompanied by a responsible adult. They're taking a quiet route at an easy pace.

The closed road section in the centre of town (i.e. the Big Ride itself, as opposed to the feeder) is suitable for very young children - it's more a parade than a ride, and barely 4 miles long. If traveling with very little ones, you can take the train up to Victoria, walk to St James / Green Park, and then ride up the Constitution Hill track to the start point.

Other feeders will be heading in from Peckham Rye, Battersea Park, Lambeth, Lewisham etc. More details to follow!

BUMP

Another cycling fatality today at Elephant and Castle - I hope many of you will consider coming along to The Big Ride this Saturday.

Feeder rides leaving from Crystal Palace Park and the Waterlink Way amongst other venues.
