STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - THIS SUNDAY!
STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - THIS SUNDAY!
Dare I say things have got a tiny bit fractious lately? Those of you I do know are all delightful in the flesh. So why not put your online persona on the shelf for a couple of hours and enjoy life.
I always bring an FT to be recognised it would be a great if people carried something to clash with our preconceptions. I'm thinking Eagle with a Guardian, Rod with The Spectator and Tim with Hello!Magazine.
Anybody up for it? And what will you be carrying or suggestions for others ...
These are the dates in mind. Indicate what you can/cannot make. Probably venue is The Dolphin unless someone else is buying.
Wednesday 11th @ 8pm
Thursday 12th @ 9pm
Sunday 15th @ 6pm (or whenever the Christmas Tree event in Queensthorpe Square finishes)
Monday 16th @ 8pm
Tuesday 17th @ 8pm
Wednesday 18th @ 8pm

Re: STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - ANY TAKERS?
The temptation to ask AA what on earth his post has to do with Admin's brilliant idea is there (has to be said) but in the conciliatory spirit in which the OP has been made I reply - yes, sounds great, would much prefer Sunday 15th as I think I will need a long, strong drink after all that merriment and kids screaming....
What shall I bring now... mhmmmm..... think I need help so turn to Google:
I know exactly who reads the papers: The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country, the Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country, the Times is read by people who actually do run the country, the Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country, the Financial Times is read by people who own the country, the Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country and the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is."
Sir Humphrey: "Prime Minister, what about the people who read the Sun?"
Bernard Woolley: "Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big tits."
I think I'll bring a Beano.

Re: STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - ANY TAKERS?
looks like it's Tim's Round if he's going to the ATM.
I may or may not be there, depending on situation at home with first baby Robinson (already a few days overdue)

And what reading material will you be taking Mikej & Jon? If you don't say how will I ever be able to identify you??

Re: STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - ANY TAKERS?
I'll get along if I can - not sure about schedule so no one date is better than another for me. I'll go with the flow.

Any day bar the 17th for me.
Re: STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - ANY TAKERS?
I've made a decision!
Its going to be in the Dolphin following the Christmas Tree Lighting this Sunday 15th December @ 4pm in Queensthorpe Square. Don't forget the Christmas Market that afternoon for buying pressies and supporting Sydenham.
I hope to stay till about 7pm or when the kitty runs dry. I shall be sporting a pink FT for recognition as I shall be penniless.

Re: STF CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - THIS SUNDAY!
If I bring my daughter can she have a good run about in the Dophin and in their lovely garden or do I need to tie her to a chair?
Will Eagle be running a creche?
