Just a reminder that the Sydenham Assembly is this morning - 11am at the Catholic Club, Watlington Grove - just off Sydenham Road on the corner of Istanbul between Kent House Road and Fairlawn Park. This is the meeting for voting on the £12,500 Sydenham Assembly Fund plus I will give updates on hot topics and I will be bringing along some more SEE3 calendars showcasing a bumper month of events in Sydenham. Kirkdale and Forest Hill. Here is the agenda and your chance to ask the questions face to face.

1. Bringing the community together
· Musical theatre to celebrate the centenary of World War One
Sydenham Arts Festival - £2,500
· Music sessions for under 5's
Sydenham Community Library - £450
· Youth sessions, camps and community events
Hazel Grove Community Project - £1,150
2. Health, Well Being and Community Safety
· Providing events to get residents & carers out of their home
Carers Lewisham - £2,500
· CCTV and security lighting for Earlsthorpe Mews
Thorpes Residents Association - £2,040
3. Vibrant high street
· Activities and events in the high street including Christmas, Halloween and monthly street markets
SEE3 Town Team Manager - £2,500
4. Clean and Green
· Keeping the new Sydenham Road paving clean
Sydenham Town Centre Steering Group - £1,360
Each project has a maximum of 8 minutes
Projects must receive 51% of the those voting to be agreed

I agree with Annie, I am sure we would all like public funding of CCTV in our streets but wonder why one of The Thorpe's has been singled out.
Also surely the writer did not mean celebrate the First World War , I assume they meant commemorative ?????

Does anyone know if this was signed off at Christmas? What's the likely timeframe for a rebuild anyway, will it be finished this year?The Greyhound
Chris Best reported the Deed of Variation has been signed off by the council and is now with Purelake and the other signatories (the retail concession and Hexagon housing). It was hoped, but not promised, they would sign off by Christmas. The DoV has the effect of combining the responsibilities in the original Planning Consent with the the new Planning Consent necessary to rebuild the pub.
