Looking for stories about Sydenham during WW1

Sydenham Arts Festival is planning a large-scale community theatre show next July to mark the centenary of the start of WW1.

We're looking for stories and historical anecdotes about Sydenham, Kirkdale, Forest Hill, Perry Vale and Bellingham during 1914-1918 to provide background material to the story.
