Open Mic Night Sydenham

Post by Jonson47 »

Hi Everyone,

I'm a guitarist and songwriter.

I want to find local singer song writers and musicians (I know you're there!) who might be interested in establishing an open mic night in Sydenham, or at the least somewhere where writers and singers can gather and play together.

Anyone interested?

Cheers,

Jonson

hi jonson47

We organise singer-songwriter nights and have opportunities for performers every July in the Sydenham Arts Festival. Do contact me if you'd like to propose an event

I spoke to some members of the Sydenham Society last Sunday and they suggested The Golden Lion pub, also the venue for the film club, may be a good place to start for a (perhaps monthly?) singer songwriter's/ open mic, night. I'll contact Joe the owner soon to see if he'll be interested.

Apparently, there is a PA system there.

If anyone knows musicians and singers who might want to perform then do tell them. They can contact me using the contacts below.

Jonathan, it would be great to have your thoughts on organising this if the SAF can assist outside festival times that is.

Hi @Jonson47, that sounds awesome! I'm not a musician so can't sign up, but I've lived here for 5 years and noticed lots of people with instruments catching the train into town and have always thought that there's a missed opportunity to bring together and showcase (and listen to) local talent on a regular basis. I'll definitely come along to listen if you get an open mic night together.
