Well, I've rustled up some interest this end...I'm a plus 2, waiting on one other to confirm ( so might scrape 8?).

Okay - now have me plus 3.

whoever is organising the games now, it is worth giving GOALS your email and mobile number.
They still text me and call me with offers from time to time (like £10 off a booking etc), which may prove useful

Late as usual, I can't watch another depressing Liverpool display so I'm up for Wednesday so that makes a round 10! Dickie

Nice one lads. See you Wednesday.
And for those of you who are Liverpool fans I'll be wearing my Reading shirt and winning a slightly dodgy penalty in the last minute of the game!

Hi guys – It was good to play again after 7(?) weeks despite being about 10 yards off the pace.
A couple of things:
1. I will need to relinquish my managerial responsibilities at the end of February as parenthood is fast approaching. Whilst I still hope to play throughout March and beyond there will be a certain degree of uncertainty over whether I will have the time to play or to organise the pitch. So any volunteers to take over will be greatly appreciated. I would be more than happy to resume this responsibility later in the spring once family life has settled down.
2. Goals offer a big discount if we play later in the evening - a pitch costs £42.00 from 9.30 onwards rather than the £58.00 we pay now. I appreciate that a later game may not suit everybody but I thought I’d float the idea to the group for some consensus. Stick at 8.00/8.30 or move to the cheaper 9.30 slot?
Back to next week – who’s in?

Yep, good game last night.
1. Congrats on impending fatherhood. I've done my stint as manager; hopefully there's someone else who fancies taking the reigns?
2. I'm happy with 8pm/8:30pm, but if the consensus is 9:30pm then so be it.
I'm in for Wednesday.

Think I'd prefer to stick to the earlier slots if possible, but if it were later I'd still probably come.

Will make sure I've got the body armour then ; )
I've got me plus 3 for Wednesday; would rather we kept to 8/8.30 to be honest, only makes a quid or so difference.

both Paul and I are in. I'd prefer not to play so late

And me, if there's still space.

Pitch booked for 8.30. Enough space for everyone!!
I suspect that the pitches are now block booked for 7.30 on Wednesdays, so it’s going to be 8.30 from now on. If I spot a spare 8.00 slot in the future I’ll grab it.

I'd like to stick to the earlier slot if at all possible.
As it is I'm finding I am eating far later at night than I would like with the 8.30 kick-offs...eating at possibly more like 11 would be counter-productive to running about for an hour?

Names in for Wednesday 3rd Feb please.
And if any one else would like to join us, we aren’t an exclusive club of 12 and would positively welcome any new players to our fold. We play a casual 5 a-side game every Wednesday at the Goals football centre on Copers Cope Road around 8.00/8.30 (cost is £6.00) We are a very friendly bunch so please don’t worry about trying to break into an “established” group; all abilities welcome. So if you would like to try it out for a week and see how you get on please post on this thread.
