It happened again last night, Hubby took 15mins to pick me up from somewhere around 10ish last night, and lo and behold someone jumped into our space outside our house! I would have no objections if it hadn't been for the fact that across the road was absolutely clear/space for at least 5 cars over there,
and thats the thing that so annoys me-inconsiderate parking, AND YES I KNOW ANYONE CAN PARK WHERE THEY LIKE! But for gods sake THINK about others before you do!

I beg to differ, see post above-it contains all the relevent info in my opinion.

But in this siutation cpz would not help most finish at 18:30 on weekdays and only run till 13:"0 on a Saturday.

I really think they just introduce more hasstle without resolving the issues with parking they set out to.

When I lived in maida vale it was all permit only but yet I could rerely if ever get a parking space within a 5 min walk of my flat. I even had to walk pastthe tube station which was a bit galling.

As far as I can make out these schemes have no limit on the number of permits issued, you just have to prove you live inthe correct area.

Even if your problem is caused by commuters, it is likely that they would be in the same parking area anyway?

Bazman76,
The particular incident that I referred to was after 10pm,

My objection was parking outside my house when there were at least 5 spaces that ran along a fenced area opposite my house.

Annie, The problem is that any parking space has become 'fair game' in the eyes of todays
motorists. I have worked all over London, including busiest parts where CPZ's have been
in place for years and where parking is horrendous. Fairness and consideration so easily
goes out of the window, it becomes a 'free for all' where motorists just see 'First come
first served', maybe they can hardly ever park outside their own homes.
I doubt that their inconsideration shown to you is on a personal level where grabbing any
parking space is just another part of survival (day to day) in their eyes.
This all used to wind me up too when I lived just around a corner from a busy popular pub,
I'm afraid I finally succumbed and off road parking became a priority when we moved.

I understand how annoying these problems can be.

Yes Bradford I thinked you have summed it up well.

I am sure nothing personal towards yourself Annie . Fact of modern living , never enough parking places.

I know it was nothing personal Eagle/Bradford,

The only point I was ever trying to make -is why park outside a house when there was available space opposite where there are no houses, I live in a very quiet road where I am lucky there is plenty of room for anyone wanting to visit or whatever.it was just the inconsideration that was used that got me nothing else.

No more to be said I think :)
