Good game tonight.

Quick update on finances:
- Carried over from week#5: £25.30
- Week#6: No game
- Week#7: Goals fee -£58.90; payment by players +£60.00 (10 players @ £6.00 each)

So: 25.30 – 58.90 + 60.00 = £26.40

i.e. we have £26.40 in the kitty

Come on AliB...time to make a reappearance. None of this 'too cold in the Winter' rubbish!

I feel rather like George Best at the tail end of his career. Over-weight, unfit, stubbled and with alcohol issues.

However, i am putting myself forward for Wednesday November 4th.

I must admit the lure of the curry night was too strong. Put me down for that too Biscuitman. I would like to put forward Gurka's as the venue, but it is Biscuitmans game now, so it's his choice.

i am also up for the durry on Dec 2nd, and thabkfully this won't be dependent on numbers, but obviously Biscuitman would like early confirmation because we may require a large number of tables/seats

just a suggestion like.

I have no idea what the finances are. I would suggest (and biscuitman calls the shots now) that all excess monies, if any, are put behind the bar at Gurkhas to be spunked up. i(it'll probably be in the region of £20, or less)
I think Christmas may present logistical problems, that may be best addressed in the New Year when a new season can start in the Spring.

Biscuitman has taken the reins exceptionally well, but his time is drawing to a close. I think a winter break will give people time to party with workmates and socialise with family and let a new 'fixer' take over for the start of a new season (if only for a couple of months)

We can discuss/elect at Gurkhas, which i think is an exceptional idea by Biscuitman.

I haven't played for some time but can come along on Wednesday - and also to the curry.

Confirmed so far for football on Wednesday 4 November:

- Nick (possible)
- Donny +1

Confirmed so far for curry on Wednesday 2 December:

Putting the spare funds (currently £26.40) behind the bar at Gurkha's sounds good.

A winter break after the curry also sounds sensible.

Greg piqued my interest about 5-a-side in the pub yesterday, so I'd like to start playing again. I can't do tomorrow but am available next week.

Bit late to the party boys but I'm in +1, this week, with possibly another of the team pitching up too.
Looks like we might have 14 again - which is great - but should we stick to say 6 a side with subs ? It's just that 7 v 7 game a few weeks back was a bit tight, space wise.

Confirmed players are:
- Biscuitman
- Ulysses
- Parklife
- Ali B
- Aidan
- Nick (possible)
- Donny +1
- Marathon
- Thomas
- chrelcombe
- Joe P +1 (or 2)

So we have between 12 and 14.

I agree that six-a-side, with regular rolling subs if necessary, sounds good.

If you have 13 or 14, i will stand aside, rather than get into the complexities of substitutions etc. However, occasionally people do not turn-up (without prior notice), so we'll wait and see nearer the time.

If too many turn up then that is extra drinks at Gurkhas in December

Thanks to all those who played tonight.

Quick update on finances:
- Carried over from week#7: £26.40
- Week#8: Goals fee -£58.90; payment by players +£66.00 (11 players @ £6.00 each)

So: 26.40 – 58.90 + 66.00 = £33.50

i.e. we have £33.50 in the kitty

This is where I hand over the reigns to a new manager who will reveal his identity shortly...

All that remains is for me to ask you to post your availability for:
- the curry on 2 December 2009
- football on 11 November 2009

I can play on 11 November, but can't be there until 8:30pm. So don't organise it around me, but if you're short on numbers you might want to go for a later than usual start.

Yes to the curry and the 11th.
