Oh dear....
But Gaz, yes, Eostre was a goddess associated with fertility and the festival of Eostre is all about new life, growth, rebirth, etc. It's no coincidence that the festival of Easter has a similar sounding name, is celebrated at the same time of the year, and has symbols such as eggs and rabbits associated with it.

One year I even had a yoof come round about 3 days early - he said he couldn't make the 31st!
In years gone by (not here in Sydders) the little darlings used to get driven about by their caring parents. I remember fondly the one year a white-van pulled up outside a local hostelry which I had decamped to. The little treasures were bundled out of the back by their loving parents who clearly had alot of love to give as they even had a tatoo saying as such on their knuckles.
After the little bundle of joy had done his rounds of said public house with his Sister in tow (snotty nose, dirty clothes a bit...urchin like) back to their chariot they skipped.
Clearly Mother didn't have as much love to give as her Husband for she swiftly administered a slap to the face of the Son (musn't have gotten enough for a packet of 20 yet) and off they drove.
Aaaah. Those were the days. People knew how to celebrate Haloween back then!

Well yes it does, but open the door at your peril around here!! Then again, FAIL to open the door and you get an egg splattered over your windows! Halloween, just an excuse for the horrors to be even more horrible than usual... we should just cancel Halloween!!
