Sorry lads but I'm going to bail tonight.
A number of sad excuses spring to mind; namely that it's awful weather/I'm not English/I'm tired/been abroad for work 3weeks out of past 4 so need to earn some brownie points...
All weak but all valid. Ish.

Hi,
Have just moved to Sydenham from Blackheath, would it be possible to come along? I played 11 a side for years until I moved to London two years ago and a friendly weekly game would really hit the spot. I would class myself as ‘not brilliant but not rubbish’ if that helps (I am fairly fit though – not sure if that’s regarded as cheating!).
I gather there’s a weekly game on Weds, so any further info would be gratefully received as this is a pretty epic thread!
Thanks,
Henry

Hi Henry,
Yes, you would be more than welcome and your skill level sounds spot on. We currently get 12-14 regulars but the more the merrier.
Games kick off on Wednesday's at 8.30 - usually pitch 8, which is 7-a-side. We meet in the bar 5-10 mins before.
Al (Powell) is the current manager and I'm sure he'll be in touch.
Welcome

Thanks Joe, sounds good (especially the 7-a-aside bit as the extra numbers may help to negate my lack of skill/pace!).
Cheers,
H

You'll be fine - we've adopted the Tikki Takki system i.e. let the ball do all the work. ; )

Yes and Joe P is doing a passable impression of Andy 'I need 20 chances to score' Cole...
Or was it 30?
Cracking game last night gents and
IN for next week!

And there's still room for, shall we say, 'a little improvement' of my first touch...
Good game last night. I got the grand total of one goal.
In for next week.
