Sorry, gents. It's now highly unlikely I can make it on Wednesday. Please assume I'm out.

I will post again on forums for neighbouring areas to try to drum up some new players.

Hello chaps,
This is a message from the distant past. I would love to say farewell to you guys, but am presently in the conditon called 'fat'.
I hope to drop by on the 9th, but may not actually play. You guys are now super-fit and technically experienced. I would stand no chance.

Plus this has developed to far-beyond what i would have hoped for, due to others input.

All i was hoping for was the opportunity to say goodbye to something that was started on a whim, but is now a stalwart of STF , and a great social experience. Especially the Christmas meal and occasional social drinks.

I would like the opportunity of wishing you all the best, before i leave in 3 weeks time

Ali

In for Wednesday.

Ali it would be great to see you if you can make it. The game has got a little quicker since you last played but I'm still huffing and puffing away mainly in defence now so you'd have some company!

i'll pay subs and bring my boots. Can't guarantee how long i'll last, but can alway don the keepers gloves and have a bit of a nap on the goal-line. :D

If you're after additional players (generally), it might be worth asking ADMIN to stick a pinned topic at the top of the Sports Forum, as a reminder that 5-a-side always welcomes new players. May also be worth plugging on SE23.com and other local internet forums.

I'll chug along tomorrow to try and re-live the 'glory years', but i think my rare moments of insightful play will be overshadowed by a wheezing fat bloke lying on the floor and begging for the final whistle.

Am looking forward to it.

Is it £7 a game stil ? and what time is Kick off ? It would be worth putting this information (along with requests for new players) on a pinned topic in the sports section, so old gits like me don't have to trawl the whole thread to find the information.

Guys,

Sorry for not being in touch for the last few weeks. I am still in the USA but will be back next week and will be there - the 16th.

I will probably be a little slower than usual as there is a lot of food over here and I feel like I've eaten a large chunk of it

See you next week

Nigel

Hi Ali
Nice to hear from you. Welcome back, if only temporarily. If FLETCH turns up tomorrow, we'll have a nice round 12.
Kick off is 8.30 (pitch 8) and the cost is £8 these days....robbing footpads charge £92.50 for a 7-a-side.

See you then.

Cheers

i can't find my footie trainers. I think i may have prematurely thrown them out. :D

I have some running shoes that should suffice, but may be festering , and a bit of a home to bacteria. I don't mind being sub for some of the match, in fact i'll probably welcome it.

see you later
