Guys, i am quite relaxed about this.

I was hoping that eventually the 5-a-side may be self-perpetuating. However, I don't want you to post all your contact details on here.
If you guys can pm me your mobile/home/email details, I can forward these to all (on a spreadsheet) so that you can sort something out at short notice.

I hope you appreciate how tricky it can be co-ordinating these events week by week.

Keep posting availability for next week and let me have your details so i can forward these to all of you.
I appreciate the enthusiasm by Marathon and others who are trying to keep this going

OK, as well as the above posting requesting contact details, I also need feedback on the following proposition.

I have spoken to Beckenham Goals this evening. We can block book a pitch for 8pm Wednesday evening for a period of 5 to 20 weeks at a time.

The cost per match is £62.50 (compared to £58.90 currently)

If a hardcore of players want to commit to 5 weeks at a time, I can charge £6.50 per week for a minimum 5 weeks (totalling £32.50 each). Players than turn up on the evening would be subject to a charge of £7 (to keep it fair to those who block book)

If i can get 10 players commiting to 5 week blocks (and paying in advance ) then i will do a block booking. I can use the surplus in the funds to top up any shortfall until 'pay as you play' players give me the cash.

Surplus £ to be dispered at end of season. A financial spreadsheet is available to all regular players.

waddya fink ?

Ali,

To be perfectly honest I am not sure what extra benefit that will bring. I doubt whether we will get enough players able to commit to make it worthwhile block booking and paying an extra 3.60 per match for the priviledge (with the possibility of still having to cancel bookings). I also think any increase in the weekly subs will start to deter the casual players from turning up.

Apart from the odd hiccup the current system works well enough and we do have a hardcore of players who turn up week on week.

Thanks for your valiant responses trying to keep this going.

I did agree with Marathons statement about "why should we pay more for a block booking?". I gave Goals some feedback on what i thought yesterday.

So we'll keep the system as it is, booking week by week.

So, we need at least another person to confirm ASAP and then we'll go ahead for next week

OK, a booking has been made for the 9th September KO 8pm.

The second half of the England match will be in the bar after the game.

We have 8 confirmed players, and additional players can either confirm by posting or turn up on the evening. £6 a pop. (If we don't reach enough money on the day, then i'll dip into the cash reserves)

Chaps, just to let you know , I am thinking that we are drawing near to the end of the season.
We have been exceptionally lucky with the weather and facillities. Next week may be close to my final match for this year. As i am self-employed, i need to devote more time in the evenings to work.

So.... this isn't necessarily the end. We can go into winter hibernation and emerge in the Spring, ...Else other people can take over for the Autumn/Winter months if momentum dictates.

Thought it prudent to let you know, so that there can be a smooth transition.

Post or PM me your opinions....and keep them clean.!!

Well I plan on playing on and dragging along whoever is up for it, on a week-by-week basis. I can pretty much guarantee two extra each week, rising to 5+ if the stars are in alignment.

OK, i didn't make it tonight as i have a backlog of work.

I called Biscuitman, and he said he would take the reins for this evening. (note, another rain-free evening.)
To be honest, I'm not sure what my availability will be from now on.

Perhaps someone else can post proposals for the next match to at least give me some breathing space. I am OK to continue as is, but don't want the current system to fall on its @rse.

There are also a few £ in the fund which I would like to clear out before I am accused of doing a 'Verry Tenables'.

Let me know how it went and if anyone wants to take the responsibility of organising

Only seven players tonight, but I'm keen to keep playing if we can get a few more to play in future.

I'm happy to organise games and take money for the next couple of months, and then hand over to a new manager.

Okay, who's in for Wednesday 16th, 8pm at Goals Beckenham North (http://www.goalsfootball.co.uk/CentreDe ... ranchId=48)?

Please post your availability by 12pm on Monday 14th.

BTW, for anyone who has considered playing but hasn't done so yet, come and join us. It's a good kickabout, and you need not be a top-class player. If you did need to be a top-class player I wouldn't be turning up each week. :D And if you're a lapsed player, come and join us again.

An hour of football and then a quick drink in the bar. What better way to spend a Wednesday evening?

This weeks mess-up was greatly due to me dropping out at the last moment.

However, this does highlight a disparity in players needs to be flexible, coupled with the financial need for continuity.

Further to Biscuitmans request, I am available for next week. If the other hardcore members commit to this match, then i can pay them money owed from the existing excess.

I've only had three positive responses, so football is OFF this week. Sorry, guys.
