Fouling dogs

I don't really understand what is wrong with putting a small bag of dog droppings in a residential bin. Can someone please explain? It cant have much effect on the bin and it surel is far preferable to having the mess on the pavement?

I agree. But it seems to be an odd fact of human nature that we feel proprietorial towards the contents of our bins, even though they are by definition things which we have renounced ownership of, and that we object to having them 'contaminated' by other people's rubbish.

Actually for me, one of the reasons I would not like dog-poo in my bin is that I have the teensiest front garden and my bin ends up outside one of my front windows and right by the path and front door. And if we ever get a summer full of hot weather again, the smell could end up in my sitting room!

And if it's at the bottom of my bin (and I don't tend to put bags out till nearly dustbin day) when I put a heavy bag on top of the poo bag, it could go splat (trying not to get too graphic here) and leak into my bin, and then it would smell.

I can understand that those with long gardens etc might not mind, and simply can't understand the problem, but for those of us whose bins are right by the door and windows, it's a different issue

It's my bin,its my rubbish I put in it and its my bin I keep clean!
I don't have a dog,I don't want other people's dog stuff in my bin, if you want to put sweet wrappings, cig boxes,etcetc fine,I don't have a problem with that.
It's your dog,I presume you have a bin at home? Put it in your own bin if its not such a problem.

True Dick but a bit harsh. After all who gives the council its money to buy the bins.
Alright mostly HMG in LBC case.

Perhaps we should think radically here. Why do people have a right to park on the kerb at all.
Perhaps all street parking should be charged for.
After all before one has a car perhaps one ought to have a place to park it.

Could be a great way to raise more money.

Also the bin is only on the pavement long enough for the bin man to empty it, the other 23 hours on a Tuesday it's on my land,in that 1 hour I do not want other people's dog dirt in my bin,I think that's reasonable I don't really care whether you do.
Ps, how about the odd baby's nappy? How would you like that in your bin? Or wouldn't you honestly mind?

I have a communal bin - so no, I wouldn't mind. Our bin is merely a state-provided receptacle to take away rubbish. Dog poo is rubbish. Therefore rubbish can go in a rubbish bin.

Like others on here, I've occasionally had situations where public bins or dog poo bins are full to overflowing, and I'm a long way away from my own bin. So I put my dog shit in the nearest convenient bin - ideally a communal one, but, if need be, any. Because putting rubbish in a bin is the tidy, civically minded, and hygienic, thing to do.

I indirectly pay for my bin through my taxes.
However, my bin is not a communal bin, I therefore have to keep it clean and in good condition, I do not have a dog, so do not have dog poo to deposit into it, that's my choice, you have a dog, you have dog poo, your choice, put it in your own bin. I would like to know how your neighbours fel about it,who cleans your bin?

I do. Because one of my idiot neigbours can't work out that he need to put his black bin liners into the big bin, resulting them being shredded by foxes. So I clean up after him. Every single week.

Sh1t happens. Life's too short to stress about this kind of stuff.

Incidentally, although as an aged codger fixated on the good old days I hate to have to say it, there is a lot less dogshit around on the pavements now than when I was a lad.
