Just saw this thread, and I realise that I'm one being accused of showing too much ego and aggression. Well, yes, I do sometimes, and I'm sorry, especially if it puts people off.

I would have thought that most posters like open and frank conversations and even a
bit of a political debate at times. That said we have to appreciate that views may clash
or even be in total opposition at times, I believe that this (for me at least) creates a good
open debate as long as we respect that our own views may not be the views of others.
On many issues there are no clear rights or wrongs but only a 'personal take' or an
opinion so learning to accept these differences is a good 1st step. You may even manage
to sway someones opinion (mine often has been) but only by respectfull debate.
I hope that more posters do get involved because we'll probably get fed up with each other before too long, which might possibly make things worse!

Politeness doesn't cost anything, an amount of humour can be good too!

You are quite correct Bradford , many of us have strong views , but surely these can be stated in a polite and non personal way .

Funny maybe, but also so very sad.
I can say categorically that i am not a Troll, of any kind, and the only things i have in common with Shrek are being a bit rotund and standing up for the down trodden...

No, he is calling Eagle a Troll, he doesn't like anyone to have a different point of view, he (allegedly ) only deals in facts! But life isn't like that I'm afraid, life is made up of all types of people with all kinds of views, and we need to allow all voices to be heard, but welcome steveofsyd, stick with it!

Believe you are refering to the gent , MWAV , who complains of alleged intolerance , however shows zero tolerance to anyone who does not 100% support his strange views.

Ok - I'm going to exhibit some intolerance now.

Town Cafe is for friendly chat and specifically NOT for attacks on fellow members no matter how naughty they have been. This thread if it is to achieve anything is about how we make the place more welcoming and not recycle old dogfights. There is a Pub, Asylum & Benefit Office for more aggressive comment.

So all of you who have not been charm itself posting on this thread - please administer a firm slap on the wrists to yourself. I'm afraid my hands are far too delicate for such manual tasks ....

EDIT: Any follow up comments on "he started it first sir .." may cause a minor explosion in Admin Towers.
