Chaps,
We've officially been ousted from Goals this week. Disappointing but there's nothing we can do. Someone has made a block booking and clearly this takes percedence over our booking. I don't like it but that that's the way they're operating.
So, they can do a 7.30 or a 9.30. Or we see about making the move? I'll call the NSC and see what the score is there.
@Donny/Lem: Do you think this is the right course of action?

As of this moment we would be able to play at the NSC on Weds at 8.30 and it would be £33.60.
I'm playing a game with Syd_Stone's team on Monday so will report back regarding facilities.
£33.60 for NSC or £90 for Goals...bit of a no-brainer? Especially after the way they've just treated us.

Sounds good to me! Probably best to go ahead and book. Even if the facilities turn out to be rubbish it's better to have a pitch than no pitch.
Thanks for all your research.

Perfect, I would say go ahead and book, even better that we only have to change venue and as we get to keep the time and day the same that's amazing, and at £33.60 I don’t think anyone can complain
So NSC this Wednesday?
Thanks to Syd_Stone's for the info and Ulysses for doing the leg work
If anyone has a problem getting there I can offer 2 people a lift from Sydenham station as I’ll have 2 coming with me this week , if so either give me a call or text and we can arrange it

I haven't been able to 100% confirm the pitch as yet. The bookings team only keep office hours but when I called this morning the slot was free. Will call them first thing tomorrow to firm us up.

Quick aside about the pitch issues...have we considered the other Goals centre at Beckenham ? Alternatively, I don't mind playing at 7.30 at the current site.
In fact I'd prefer it; 8.30 is a bit awkward I think. Slap bang in the middle of the evening and doesn't give you much time to do anything either before or after.

Ulysees - looks like our hand has been forced. NSC might be the best option for sticking with a wednesday - have they confirmed? I've played on a couple of the pitches down there and they're ok - in fact me and Syd_Stone go back a long way so send him my best. I'll come along and spectate this week and can offer 4 a lift - corner of Silverdale at 8.10
JP - you're right 8.30 is bang in the middle of eve but if I remember correctly we canvassed an earlier KO time before and for some of us 7.30 would be impossible - 8 at a push would be ok for me.

Gentlemen,
Well, the very worst news. Having recontacted the NSC it would appear that not only is the cost more like £62ish there is absolutely no availability whatsoever for the bar pitch on Weds evening from 7PM onwards. They were quite keen to work out who had given me this bum advice (apparently I'm not alone) but I didn't want to get embroiled in getting someone into trouble; I was more concerned that we have no longer solved our issue.
*sigh*
Back to the drawing board. I really don't know what to suggest any longer.
My humble suggestions would be:
a) Bite the bullet with Goals and if still available go for the 9.30 this week. This way we can discuss a lot more quickly where we go from here, in person.
b) Call off this week to allow us time to fully source alternatives and present them to all 'members' to vote on. I fear the other Beckenham Goals being at Elmers End is really too far away and would mean potentially losing the Balham crew...again something I'm keen to avoid.
Sorry for messing everyone around but I can only communicate the information I am given. What a palaver!?

OK, between Lem and I we've taken an executive decision to go ahead and book the 7.30 slot on Weds at the usual Goals. It's only an hour earlier and here's hoping that this doesn't inconvenience too many.
We can have a chat before/during or after the game about what our options are and how we proceed.
@Powell: Did you get a chance to check out Kangley Bridge? Facilities/availablity etc?

Wow, this is turning into a drama!
From 2 Balhamites points of view, as you rightly say, over an hour on the train to get to Beckenham Goals would be a no go for us. Although saying that, the 21:30 at the current Goals plot wouldn't sit particularly well either when factoring in journey times getting home as the trains aren't massively frequent. (Would most likely be lucky to get home before half eleven...)
19:30 would be great for us but I suppose it depends on how many people it puts out...
Happy to discuss whatever though!

Thanks for sorting. See you at 7:30pm on Wednesday.
I will PM the rest of the previously confirmed players.

7:30pm is a bit tricky for me but will say "count me in" and I'll have just have to run a bit faster to get there. Thanks for messaging me as probably wouldn't have checked the forum again until much closer to the time.

evening all
I have belatedly found out that I have no college this wednesday and logged on to find out if there was room on the pitch for me. But having read the last six pages of posts I am now horribly confused. I think you are playing at the usual Goals pitches at 7.30pm?
If there's any room for a late entry I'd like to come down and play - can someone let me know if that's ok (whoever is currently gaffer, that's also a bit confusing) Though I might come down anyway to heckle with pint in hand if you're at maximum capacity...

You're very welcome to play (or heckle). It's
7:30pm kick off at the usual Goals venue.
Ulysses and I are joint temporary managers pending Donny's return from injury.
