An excellent call.
I was just about to post my own unavailabiliry for this evening, based n the rapidly desreasing ambient temperature. i dread to think what the temperature would be at KO time this evening

the silence is deafening from the 5-a-siders.
i bet none of the players wanted to give it a go this evening, they were just waiting for someone else to call it off.
As it happens, the temperature is stupidly cold in Sydenham and ice is forming again on the pavements and roads.
I've just got back from( driving) collecting the missus from crystal palace train station. The roads are quite empty, but the trains are fcked.
An excellent call by Diamondmaker
i'm in for the 8th

I too was looking forward to a game in the chilly night air, but was pretty sure I was going to have to cover up - at least for the walk home. Disappointed it has been cancelled but not grumbling, good call by the sound of it. I am in for next week, weather permitting.

Do we need to reconfirm with you for next week Diamondmaker or should only those who cannot attend the forwarded reservation do so?
I too was a bit gutted that it was cancelled as I'm always up for a game but agree it was defo the sensible call. It'll be interesting to see if the Sydenham Assembly goes ahead tonight at the place on Jews Walk; I might have to order these!

sorry for bailing yesterday but couldn't be sure of getting back and really didn't want to risk driving.
In for the 8th and still prepared to take on the "manager" role for first quarter despite recent sledging on the forum...!

Donny - can you bring a big rucksack on Wednesday then please? You'll need enough space for 10 vests, 3 pairs of gloves, a football, a pump and £61!

What I'm not entirely sure of is if Goals have 'forwarded' the initial [wrong] booking of a 7s or are we on a [revised] 5s again?
Given I've been called by Head Office and Beckenham on a daily basis of late to re-book my 'old' pitch [how many months ago?] I suspect confusion on Goals part, as ever, reigns...
As for 'sledging' Donny, I think it was a frank and open exchange of views. I'd hope Aiden - much like I - has not given it a second thought since. Well, I know I haven't...

Hope to see you all then.
