Think I'll need to take out another mortgage to play!
Especially as I was just thinking that the combined effect of vasodilation from the exercise counteracting against the vasoconstriction of the cold air will do wonders for my skin!
I've never been what you'd term a man's man.

Ta for the KO time.
I'll probably wear plasters over my nipples to prevent "joggers nipple".
I had bleeding nipples around 10 years ago and it's quite scary.

i have just called Goals.
They'll be assessing the pitches around 4pm on the day of the game. If travel becomes a problem for the players , we can cancel (up to KO time) and won't be charged.
No woosing out because it is too cold

If you have a 'tache resembling Jon Voight (in Deliverance), then there is an unlimited fine. (payable in the showers)
facial hair is otherwise acceptable

My tash has gone too.
Walking up to my evening class at the top of Kirkdale tonight was...fun!

Transport issues may be realised today.
In the event of people not being able to get to Beckenham, can you let us know as early as possible ? I'd rather not have the 2 mile walk to Goals if it's called off.
Aside from that, i'll be wearing a wooly hat, gloves, facial hair, lip balm, 5 t-shirts. leggins and tracky bottoms and skis.

Having braved the walk up and down Kirkdale and last night and having been out and about in Sydders early this morn' I do fear for getting there. It's pretty treacherous out there for road and foot traffic! It took Katherine 3 hours to get home last night using the tube to Sydders after the ELL stopped running and she bused it via Kathmandu.
We're forecast heavy snow again today I'll keep a watching brief for Goals' decision but I fear the weather and our incompetent council/public transport system may stop play...

Hi guys... sorry but I think I am going to have to bail out this week. Standing about waiting for delayed trains in this weather isn't fun.
I don't mind paying some extra money next time if I need to.
cheers
Droid.

i don't wish to doom-monger, but I have similar feelings to Droid and Ulysses. Walking the pavements is hazardous and I had to pick the missus up from Crystal Palace station last night as there seemed to be very few trains managing to get to Forest Hill.
I rang GOALS just now and it looks like the pitches are playable, but the final decision will be made around 4pm.
I think travel is going to be the big issue later on

I've been in touch with Goals - I've downgraded us to a 5 a side as they have to clear pitches. I need to let them know this afternoon what the deal is about us turning up. If I see more dropouts I will cancel. They will be back in touch with me later about whether they can stay open or not. If you can't/don't want to make it, let me know and I'll transfer the booking to next week. No charge for this week obviously.

My own feeling is that if the pitches are playable then we should go ahead with it.
Droidy coming from Balham is one thing but cars are moving (slowly) and if you take care the footway is not impassable...
Text me and we'll meet up Ali and walk there. I'm keen to play still. Fingers crossed.

I drove from Sydenham to Balham today; the main roads are fine. Barring another heavy(ish) dump, I think driving at least, is a goer. Pavements are a bit treacherous though....

Have just been speaking to Donny, and neither of us can commit to getting back in time as London Overground still has severe delays (although I appreciate that Southern services look a bit better).
Please don't count on either of us being there. Apologies if that leaves you short on numbers.
