The results are in, and the winner (by the slimmest of margins) of our Farewell Football Match is 18th May.
So I propose the following timetable (I would welcome suggestions or amendments)
18th May
2:00pm Kick off (at Goals Copers Cope Road)
Beer
5:00pm FA Cup Final (in Goals, Golden Lion, or another suggestion)
Beer
9:00pm Curry (in Gurkhas)
People are free to jump in for any part that they are free for, but can you please let me know if you are in for the football so I know which pitch to book.
I will start inviting former players now that we have the date (starting with Alib)

Oh my god, you lot are still playing?! (no doubt with some younger legs now). Bang up for a run-out on 18 May. It’s been about 4 years since I pulled my boots on, but you never lose it (if you never had it). If there’s a chance to have a warm up on a Wednesday before that let me know. Tarbs

AliB in for the 18 May
Thank you for the kind invite, which I feel compelled to accept. Such a really gratifying gesture. I'll need to dig out some XXXL shorts and T-shirt. and bring an oxygen mask.
Should be able to make a beer or 2, but not sure about laters, as I have commitments at home.

I genuinely forgot about this forum, I hope everyone’s okay! I’d love to play but I’m away that weekend. I hope you have a good game though. Will the 5 a side games continue somewhere else?

Lachie - sorry mate, it’s not in with the kit. Have you checked with Goals?
I’m glad so many of the PMs I’ve sent have found an address.
Tarbs - we can always find space for a warm up on a Wednesday, just pick one.
Dan - we will be continuing elsewhere, probably another Goals (near Elmers End)
Donny - it’s be great to see you along, jump in whenever you want.

On the other venue, I had a response from the Jubilee Sports Ground in Catford and they can block book it at 8:30. They have initially said they’d need up front payment, £850, I’ve messaged to see if we could continue the current arrangement. It would be good to have an option.

where do I find an XXXXXXL t-shirt and shorts combo ?
In for 10 minutes of playing in goal for 18 May. Beer and curry still in the balance as to domestic situation.
check out local schools to see if they rent out 5-a-side pitches in evenings, in order to get revenue. Kangley Bridge leisure centre also wanted block-booking of 10 weeks a pop.

Hi Middlesbrough,
Good to hear from you after all this time, and hello to all on the forum, I just spoke with Ben (Joe Pineapples) and we’re both up for the reunion match, he’s checking if Saul is also available that weekend.
Cheers
Phil

Great to hear you’re in Phil, and Ben as well. Fingers crossed for Saul. I’m wondering if one pitch will be enough...

Thanks for the invite for the 18th Middlesbrough!
Time flies...really miss those Wed night matches (and pints). Glad to see the game is still running - looks like there's quite healthy squad numbers too.
Would love to make it but I'm a bit too far away these days.
Enjoy lads!
Jonny

I might be Size XXXXL, but needing 2 pitches for the 18 May is a tad insulting
