This sounds great - best of luck!

Sadly I won't be able to drink wine in the evening for some time as I have a newborn. Will I be able to squeeze in with a pushchair during the day?

Children, babies, and their adult companions are very welcome - and we like to think of ourselves as a coffee/food/wine/beer/other things shop.... so hopefully you'll find something that suits :)

We have wifi, too!

Thanks JMLF, I'm sure we'll see you soon - and we know we could never compete with Arcade Fire :)

It was a great night - and we look forward to doing it all again tonight!

My husband and I went in yesterday lunchtime and enjoyed a very good pint of beer and glass of white wine, and delicious cured meats. The salami with fennel was particularly delicious. Great to see somewhere like this in Sydenham! :D

Wine bar at 161 Kirkdale

Post by biscuitman1978 »

I popped in for lunch yesterday with my girlfriend and very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

And it was heaving when I walked past at 11pm lat night on my return from stewarding at the Hegley & Kay Arts Festival event. There's definitely a market for this kind of venue in Sydenham!

My visit was a very pleasant experience. It's small (is there any option to expand?) but a nice vibrant atmosphere, good selection of wine, and an exciting addition to sydenham.....

In a few months, this will hopefully be on the SE26 wine drinking trail starting at 'on the hoof', stopping for a bottle or two at the new wine bar (being built by the bridge near the station) and finishing off for an odd glass at 161 Kirkdale :)

Lovely

It was full last night but managed to get a table - wonderful food and drink and a nice atmosphere. Hopefully won't be too long before we make a second visit!

I'm hearing good things about the Review evening at 161 Food and Wine

Image

Apparently great value at £35 per head, combining a range of things to eat with samples of their wines, which sounds like a neat way to build customer loyalty and get the feedback on what the business should be doing next.
