Buses diverted

The traffic heading up London Road is shocking and buses diverting Frien/Barry Road. May have been an accident?

No mention of any buses on diversion @TfLBusAlerts that doesn't mean they aren't being diverted

Hi, yes the buses numbered 197 and 176 were still on diversion away from Cobbs Corner this evening. There was a fairly serious accident on Kirkdale which took place immediately in front of the petrol station. A young male riding a black scooter with L-plates was apparently hit by a car and he sustained injuries as a result. When I arrived on foot at around 7.45pm the police had already cleared the area an Kirkdale had been cordoned off to traffic. Marking the accident spot on the road was a heap of clothing, and a ripped back-pack. Next to these items was an individual bottle of water. The black scooter did not seem that damaged and it was parked just inside the garage entrance with police tape around it. Obviously more details will emerge.
