Chris Best? What do you think?
We should all work together?

Re: SEE3
Hey there
Just to wade into this briefly and give you an update. SEE3 Ltd (the company set up by the team of volunteers who put the bid together for Portas Pilot funding to facilitate the receipt of funding in order to implement the initiatives within the bid) is currently winding down most of its funded projects and we are in the process of determining the best way to communicate what we have achieved and learnt so far, and how to build on what we have achieved and take the group into the future. Updating the SEE3 website and determining what its purpose will be post funded initiatives is part of that. We will be re-focussing on the Town Team very soon with Marketing, Communications and Events being one action group. We need people to come forward to provide content, news and manage the website functionality so I would appeal to those that want to get involved in this way to come along to the meeting and pitch in accordingly. The comments and suggestions that you've made are all things that have been discussed and considered, but of course it needs careful planning with clear objectives to ensure that its cohesive and comprehensive which I'm sure you'll appreciate is resource heavy and we have to be realistic about what we can achieve with volunteers, and otherwise identify funding streams. We hope to announce details of upcoming meetings in the next few weeks.
I understand that there are also discussions about how to resurrect the Sydenham Town Centre website but Chris Best will be able to provide details about this. I know with election day tomorrow however Chris might have a few other things going on right now.

Re: SEE3
Do you have a date for that Louise? Don't panic, I'm not volunteering, but it would be nice to work together and with a reborn STC.louisecbrooks wrote:We need people to come forward to provide content, news and manage the website functionality so I would appeal to those that want to get involved in this way to come along to the meeting and pitch in accordingly.

Re: SEE3
Hi admin
The quote you've pulled out is referring to the SEE3 website and not STC. As I say I know Chris Best is in discussions as to how best to resurrect this but I can't comment as to how far those discussions have gone. I don't have dates for the SEE3 Town Team meetings yet but we'll post them on here v. soon.

Was it the original intention to set up SEE3 as a Ltd company for only a given period of time?
If not what are the reasons for winding it down?

Re: SEE3
SEE3 Limited is a legal entity set up to facilitate the receipt and management of the funding it received from Lewisham Council and the Mayor of London for the Portas Pilot scheme. SEE3 Limited is not winding up, but the initiatives that were funded are either completed or nearing completion. Therefore the focus of SEE3 Limited is no longer to deliver the initiatives laid out in the bid. It is likely that SEE3 Limited will continue to exist to facilitate future funding bids driven by the wider SEE3 Town Team. Therefore a key focus moving forward is to turn the Town Team which is currently in its infancy into a robust, sustainable Town Team that drives continuous evolving regeneration.
Re: SEE3
Is it possible please for SEE3 to post on STF their application to acquire Portas Pilot funding?
Also I’ve been trying to find the application forms for the various paid jobs they advertised on their web site and looked elsewhere too but so far cannot find.
It would be useful to be reminded of the initial aims and objectives to enable a comprehensive evaluation.
At the beginning when people were appointed to posts there was information about the successful candidate with a photo.
A lot of information appears to have been deleted on see3.co.uk or perhaps it is there but I’m looking in the wrong place?
It would be important to maintain all information posted, since public funding and surely to help document each stage and enable anyone to find out each step of the process?
Before I post this just rechecked the web site, just as I did a few days ago and I’m sure there are changes.
For example if I tried to find what the SEE3 project was ‘About’ I was only able to read about the Directors which should have been an additional section not the only one. This provided no information until now?
After over a year other parts of the web site have just been updated too.
It does need to be remembered that whilst there have been a number of volunteers involved there have also been salaried posts.
Therefore it would be surely part of their responsibility to keep their part of see3.co.uk updated?
I believe all information should be kept available, with updates not deletions in order for those interested to contribute in an insightful and helpful way

Re: SEE3
I'm not involved in administering the website but I think you will find all articles available in the archive (available halfway down the right-navigation bar). You can then see articles month by month. If you think something is missing you can always use the Internet Archive service. It would seem reasonable for some pages to be updated as things change, particularly if there have been changes of directors. It would not be appropriate to have a policy of non-deletion of information when out of date and potentially misleading.
As for the formal application from Lewisham council for the Portas Funding (remember this was submitted before the SEE3 had any formal structure), I do not have a copy of the document, although the supporting videos are available on the website.
I'm sure anybody performing a 'comprehensive evaluation' will have access to all the necessary documents.

Re: SEE3
I think you are wrong. Here is the internet archive of the 'about ' page from October last year:art4 wrote:Okay thanks- that's useful.
The 'About' section on See3 web site did though until days ago only provide Director info or am I incorrect?

Re: SEE3
You were doing so well Joanne.
How about focusing on the future rather than trying to pick fault with the past. You are falling into the old trap again Joanne.
Lots of people gave their time for free, some good stuff happened. It wasn't perfect and lessons can be learnt, but can we PLEASE move on from this and focus on the next steps?

Re: SEE3
This appears to be my error?
But also Michael needed to find a SEE3 page dated back to Oct’13 so was not available at a more recent date?
I never found this and looked therefore a passer-by would not. Also literally days ago the ‘About’ section was on the top right and only included Director info.
It’s worth considering what I have said- the same people who put together the bid then awarded themselves the job.
No one can argue that.
And in some ways I do understand why, but that is not a smart move and in everyone’s best interest.
Most importantly, moving forward:
To enable a proper unbiased evaluation it does require taking a detached view otherwise it becomes pointless and I really mean that.
Right now it appears that we have the same people who put together a successful bid, told us about that, then told us that they took the jobs, then implemented and told us about that then stopped telling us when it didn’t work out. The same people are going to evaluate?
They should not be evaluating themselves and setting up any meetings to do so.
Do the locals, most don’t access STF or attend SEE3 meetings actually know the level of funds awarded which near enough have nothing to show in objective outcomes?
That’s the current legacy- due to the choice of pop ups in SE26, based on lack of experience and out sourcing we don’t even have one left.

Re: SEE3
The Director tab is a sub tab - if you click on 'Home' you get the "About' tab. If you hover over that you get the Directors tab pop up. But if you CLICK on about you get the detailed information. It would be easy to navigate directly to the Directors tab and miss that, maybe this is what happened?art4 wrote:

Have the procedures for evaluation already been established? Or are we talking about what might happen? You ask a lot of interesting questions, I don't know if anyone on STF is qualified to answer them.
