Get Tough On Crime

• I will cut serious youth crime and end this tit for tat gang violence in the borough. No parent wants to receive that dreaded phone call.

• I will offer inspirational alternatives to deter those in crime. If they refuse to change their ways, I will evict known persistent criminals from gang members to burglars and those that are a nightmare for their law abiding neighbours.

• Promote early intervention in schools and with parents to prevent children and young people from getting involved in crime.

• Create meaningful engagement groups that work with senior members of the police to help rebuild trust between local police and Lewisham residents.

• Force under 21s to inform their local safer neighbourhood team of any plans to hold late night parties.

All good stuff, but no-where does it explain on any of his, or other manifesto's, how he will do it.

Plus I think Mr Books has burnt his bridges in Sydenham with his attitude to residents over the Zanzibar fiasco.

Are you Duwayne's communications person? Do you really think spamming a forum is the best way to get a message out?

I echo Lee's sentiment. What is there in Duwayne's manifesto about anti-social landlords of licensed premises? Is there anything about how to deal with corrupt Councillors?

I contacted Duwayne Brooks by Twitter March 21st (see what you're missing, Eagle) to find out what he had to say about housing supply, which ended up with him posting as he did about Zanzibar.

I don't think there's any question that he's a decent guy, but I'm not sure how much he thinks things through. It's a shame, really, because my views on housing would make sense for Lib Dems. Instead, we get what I described the Lib Dem and Green Party candidates doing in 2010

What the Green and Lib Dem candidates said could have been generated by a more or less sophisticated word processor rearranging what their activists were hearing on the doorsteps.

Obviously it's good for politicians to listen to people, but you also need to think ahead a bit.

And is Cassandra such a good user name for political advocacy? Wasn't she the one condemned by the Gods never to be believed?
