Attempted Burglary

Just for info - there was an attempted Burglary at our house in Burghill lat night - happened at 19.40 - tried kicking the front door in - my gilrfriend was upstairs and heard an almighty bang which dislodged the Yale lock but luckily the Chubb lock and bolt across the bottom of the door held - hate to think what would have happened if they had managed to get in !! - Police also said that someone had managed to get into one of the houses in Earlsthorpe

oh dear very worrying and unsettling for you!

did the house look empty or did you have lights on?

Porch and upstairs lights on - also neighbours next door

Very worrying that they were not put off by someone being home at the time
Did the police give you any advice?

Yes - very - not really apart from the norm - lights on at night, burglar alarm, appropriate locks etc - all of which we had - nevertheless as you say still worrying, especially at the brazenness of it, being relatively early in the evening
