LB of Lewisham's lost cinemas
Re: LB of Lewisham's lost cinemas
That's amazing - and I take it that was some cool javascript producing those effects. If it's something Lee would like help with on his "What If?" blogs, I'll see if I can help.
Re the Sydenham Granada - it's possible I prefer the supermarket!

They look like animated Gifs Tim, they are simple to do.
I didn't use them for the What Ifs as they aren't brilliant quality and I generally find them a little annoying!
As for the Granada cinema, it's the entrance that was beautiful. The rest of the building could have looked great with some modern lighting on it. For some string reason they knocked all of it down, threw the baby out with the bathwater. And now Lewisham has no cinema.
This is worth a look.

There were another 3 cinemas in Sydenham. I wanted to put something celebrating the fact that the building used to be a cinema on the corner panel above the door of Georges in Kirkdale but the landlord isn't interested in helping the area in any way shape or form.
