Mystery Orange Cat

Post by chrisj1948 »

Does anybody recognise this cat? It has taken to visiting our garden and helping itself to the food put out for foxes. A lot of the illumination in the photo comes from an IR light, so it is actually more orange than it appears, and it is a very large cat. Most of the foxes are frightened by it, although they are not worried by our three moggies.

We have no objection to it helping itself, but since it has become a regular visitor are just curious about it.

Picture snapped by FoxCam about 10:30 last night

Where abouts are you and how large is large? I'm looking at my dark-ginger cat who has suspiciously put on half a kilo recently.

We are at the corner of Sydenham Road and Newlands Park. The roasting tray you can see in the picture is a 12" one. The stumps on which it rests are 20" from the ground and the cat can have its back paws on the ground whilst it eats from the tray. The picture does not really do its size justice.

I don't normally like cats. But I like the swagger of this one. Scaring foxes and stealing their food. Now that's a bravo cat.

I think, in order to settle this, Rachael should post a picture of her pussy so we can all judge it for size, hair colour and how much it's likely to consume.

The picture was taken at 19:39 last night with only IR illumination. Orange cat is a still a regular visitor. A minute after this snap was taken we heard a terrible noise of a cat fight, so peaceful co-existence was over. Orange cat was back again in 20 minutes so plainly it didn't lose!
