I have friends who are police officers and I gladly voice my opinion to them and they don't mind. IMO most of the Police force are cowards and parasites... (and I personally have never had a bad experience with them; apart from the lack of grammar in a police statement I made to them once).

Why on earth do you condemn a whole group of people as cowards and parasites when you state clearly that you have never had a bad experience with them?

Annie, without having never met you, in my mind when I read your posts I never had you down as a person that *rolls eyes* so I'm quite shocked tbh that you've been doing this recently toward me. I'm not a troll, I just have a different outlook to you, and I respect your opinion but challenge it in a different way to others who maybe more similarly minded as you.

Parker I appreciate you have a different opinion than me on what you posted recently, however I am shocked that you feel you have the right to condemn a group of people, who in the main are good, hard working, honest people. Whom you admit you have never had any trouble with, either you have just been brought up to think that way? Or you are gullible to hearsay.
As this seems to be the most popular thread at the moment I want to say a big thank you to Admin for putting up with things that he/she doesn't necessarily agree with, it must be difficult to compromise at times.
I'd also like to wish everyone on this forum reading this a happy Christmas; even those who don't like me (we all have different opinions and this is why we're here).

Wouldn't you say the way the travel prices constantly increase (in excess of inflation) is a criminal act? That the public are absolutely powerless to do anything about being fleeced every single day/journey. If we have to let them get on with it (without a say in how much we believe we should be charged and subsequently conform); IF individuals do want to commit a 'criminal act' of not paying for a train then station staff TOO should conform to those individual's decision to avoid paying and press on regardless at the station barriers.
It's obvious why there's a problem with individuals not paying, they're forced to pay unfair charges and that IS criminal but conveniently not in the eyes of the law.
Estimates say that re-nationalisation of the railways would save over a billion pounds a year, every year. It is a joke that we still pay these massive subsidies to companies like Stagecoach...

How well do you recall the days of British Railways and British Rail ?
The service was not that great and understand far more trains and passengers than there ever was prior to privatisation.
I think your proposal illegal by EU law anyway.
British Rail was always going to go downhill when a certain party in power refused to give it proper funding. Small wonder it was decaying by the time Cecil Parkinson decided to saddle the taxpayer to tens of billions in subsidies.

I do remember years ago (circ 1968) when the up platform was, I think, on the other side of the extra barriers in. We only now have 2 sets of backless seats, one at each end of platform 2.
