Old cottages in Stanstead Road?

Post by Falkor »

This photo shows some old buildings to left of Wesley Hall in the remote part of Stanstead Road:

These look interesting! Anyone have anymore info/pics?

Not Stanstead Road, Falkor. It's the Wesley Chapel in Sydenham Road, opposite Kent House Road. This view is from Seaman and Coulter's "Forest Hill & Sydenham":

I do think their comment on its architectural failings is a little harsh.

This is the Methodist church in Stanstead Road, at the junction with Sunderland Road:

Damn, I got confused there because of the close up view! :D Now I recognise those Sydenham Road cottages...thanks mate! Perhaps my lack of attention to the church and hall--even lacking unconscious awareness of their differences--proves the ugliness of both!! :P It's a good thing Steve is on the ball...I should have saved that one for April Fools day. Actually, when I heard that residents of Bromley built a wall across their road to block off and barricade the riff raff of the new Downham Estate I thought that might have been a wind-up! :D
