South Norwood bridge closure

Post by Manwithaview1 »

I am writing to let you know that Goat House Bridge will be closed to traffic at certain times in November for strengthening works being carried out on behalf of Network Rail.

Closures will be as follows:
From 05:00 Thursday 7 to 05:00 Monday 11 November
From 05:00 Friday 15 to 05:00 Monday 18 November
From 05:00 Friday 22 to 05:00 Monday 25 November
Road users are advised to avoid the area if possible. Buses serving the area will be on diversion.

*Serious* bus diversions. The 75 bus is being diverted, presumably via Elmers End Road, to terminate at Elmers End, and I think the 157 is going round via the 410 bus route or something, so it's going to be virtually impossible to get to places west. And this when there are no trains at the weekend as well. Forget getting to Croydon if that's the case.

I can confirm you can still walk or push a push a bike across the bridge. The sign should be only no motorised traffic.
